Conclusion
Today Easter island is a national park and a tourist attraction.  It is also home to over 3,700 people.  Instead of having people and other things transported there by boat, they can get there by airplane thanks to the recently placed airport.  Due to the loss of the lush forest of trees that once inhabited Easter Island, people are trying to replant the trees.  They are also preserving the moai and other rock and wood carvings.
